Client Background

Optus is an Australian leader in integrated telecommunications, delivering cutting-edge communications, information technology and entertainment services. In 2001 SingTel became the parent company of Optus, paving the way to become a strong and strategic telecommunications player within the Asia-Pacific region.

The Challenge

Adrenalin Media was commissioned by the Pre-Paid Services (PPS) division of Optus to build a company website which facilitated online ordering of calling cards to mobile accessories for PPS customers.

Entry to the site needed to be password-restricted allowing access to pre-approved clients only. A simple-to-use content and product management system also needed to be integrated into the website, allowing Optus PPS staff to easily update products and pricing.

The Strategy

The central branding of the website was based on the "mobile girl" concept, integrated alongside the existing Optus PPS style guides. Usability and the ability to create a seamless shopping experience were central to the project. An intelligent, dynamic shopping cart system was built into the website, allowing customers to easily browse and add multiple products prior to placing an order. Trade customers needed to complete an online access application that was then automatically approved or declined by Optus PPS.

The Results

Implementation of our Website Management System gave Optus PPS staff complete content and product management control throughout the website, whilst a sophisticated order tracking system archived all website orders, giving Optus PPS secure access to a complete history of customer and order activity.
