The Life Without Barriers website was outdated and difficult to navigate. As a result, Adrenalin Media was charged with developing a website that better reflected the modern aspects of the organisation. Usability and a Web 2.0 focus were essential elements for the new website as well as intuitive navigation to make the large amounts of information easily accessible.

The primary objective was to deliver a fresh, customer-focused, user-friendly and engaging online presence to drive brand awareness and provide an intuitive, easy-to-use platform to locate information relative to Life Without Barriers across Australia and New Zealand.

Coinciding with this was the launch of an entirely new Carer Connect Portal. Managed by the same platform driving the website, the Carer Connect Portal provides carers, dedicated staff, contractors and volunteers with an online facility to engage with information and resources through a securely encrypted area.

Adrenalin Media worked closely with the marketing and IT staff from Life Without Barriers in building the new website and Carer Connect Portal.

The website utilises a number of interactive features to highlight the core service streams, resources, events and fact sheets associated with Life Without Barriers.

An intelligent site search and robust website management platform has been successful in overcoming the challenges associated with making large amounts of resources easily accessible across the Australian and New Zealand websites and Carer Connect Portal.

The new website and Carer Connect Portal offers a wealth of resources and information including news, events, fact sheets, newsletters, links, research, media and operations. This now provides carers, staff, volunteers and contractors with a unique opportunity to engage online with Life Without Barriers and access an abundance of relevant information.

Over 200 foster carers and support workers from Australia and New Zealand networked, shared ideas and were celebrated for their contribution to the community at the Life Without Barriers Carer Conference held in Sydney on 3 - 5 April 2009. A beta deployment of the websites and Carer Connect Portal was demonstrated during a presentation and yielded raving reviews.

The Life Without Barriers website complements a broader marketing campaign and will facilitate the organisation’s shift to the web and eventually social media channels.
