The Challenge

The client brief involved a rebuild of all of the Guthy-Renker Australia & New Zealand websites (14 in total) to take advantage of new technology advancements and offer a more engaging online shopping experience for customers. Key objectives of the 2009 project were to increase conversion rates and increase average order value across the suite of Guthy-Renker websites, which included key brands such as Proactiv, Sheer Cover and Meaningful Beauty.

The new website platform needed to allow for extensive scalability and be flexible enough to accommodate the multitude of campaign variations, A/B testing, promotional activities and general website enhancements/modifications which Guthy-Renker needed.

The Strategy

In order to ensure the project was approached objectively, Adrenalin Media carried out extensive research and requirements analysis with the client. Industry benchmarks were also identified, with the objective of ensuring the new websites eclipsed all best-practice guidelines.

Intuitive navigation and usability was a primary goal of the project, as is the ability to enable a simple “point & click” checkout process for customers.

The platform was architected for seamless integration with a new Website Management System, which represented a single administrative portal from which Guthy-Renker website administrators could update and maintain website content, promotional campaigns, A/B tests and all content across the suite of 14 websites.

The Results

All 14 websites were delivered within a 4 month window - an exceptional achievement considering the complexity of the platform. The sites were built using Web 2.0 standards and were optimised both from a SEO and Accessibility perspective.
